Active and regular exercise improves our physical and mental condition. It is known that hanging out with friends also improves our mental health and fights feelings of loneliness. Why not combine these two things and find a workout friend who also wants to have a great time and achieve good workout results?

While some prefer to train alone, because that way they can be focused, others enjoy training with a partner. This is because training with a partner helps them stay motivated during exercise, increases their overall performance and make them feel that they have more fun. Finding an exercise partner is a great excuse to include a little healthy competition. Neither of you will want to fall behind during training, so it can be an additional incentive to help you continue and achieve new results. While it’s important to make sure you get a winning role in training, it’s also important to have fun. Exercising itself can become a little monotonous, so you will be able to share both good and hard times with a smile on your face. In addition, combining training with a little chat and socializing makes things even more enjoyable!

Occasionally we find it silly to try new things at the gym or we are not sure if we are doing an exercise properly. However, when you have a friend to exercise, both of you will be able to support each other, learn new things and step out of your comfort zone. Together you can make a training plan as well as make the training much more interesting.

If you are thinking of doing more reps with heavy weights, a friend can help you “notice” you through the last few strenuous reps at the end of your series and encourage you to endure the series to the end. Having someone nearby when you lift heavy weights makes your training safer and prevents possible injuries.

Friends from the exercise will also help each other in terms of perfecting the form by pointing out mistakes when performing, such as, let’s say, that partner should straighten his back or bend his knees a little. Weight training with a partner is ideal. You can do the exercises alternately so that your friend completes the series during your break and vice versa. This should eliminate any clutter between series such as scrolling messages on the phone or spending a break on social media.

You can easily give up going to training. This is especially true if you go alone. However, you are more likely to continue if you have a training buddy. This is because you may feel guilty for not showing up and missing training. This can help you continue exercising regularly.

Sometimes we just need a little encouragement, that is, to have someone encourage us to do the last series, to run a little faster, cross an extra mile or one more repetition. An exercise partner can help inspire you to keep going and be even better. We leave you a link in the blog with an idea for a workout that you can do with your friend at the gym or outside. Enjoy!
